Based in London, Daughter Records was created and launched in 2018 by Tim Barton - formerly a member of one of the UK's main jazz-funk bands of the mid 1980s Freeez. Tim has a large catalogue of songs on his own label, Tim Barton Records, but felt that as his contemporary new artist stable is much more focused, and peculiarly female-led, this new label - Daughter Records - should come into being!
We are particularly proud of our roster so far which includes: Bella Barton - "sassy young Bohemian singer-songwriter with a nice relaxed vibe and a neat hint of out-thereness," Dublin Castle; Emily Mark - Brit School star in the making; Bev Benfell - beautiful songstress, ex-The Voices; the legendary, iconic Aussie Drag Star Stan Munro; dancer/songsmith extraordinaire Sylvie Holder; six-piece soul and power funk outfit T-Bass; neo-folk acoustic roots band Patongan; Brett Reid - up and coming country western artist, brilliant folk-alt-comic GUM!, we're also super excited to have iconic 90s ska band Skalette O'Hara on board here at Daughter Records as well as our newly-signed Televisual - music for television, film and dance and The House That Sings.
